Itinerary
Visit artisanal manufacturing estates, explore historical and cultural sites, and discover the most beautiful landscapes of the Analamanga region.
Arrival at Ivato Antananarivo airport. Welcoming by the team and transfer and set up at the hotel. Overnight stay.
Visit of the high town of Antananarivo called « the city of miles » : the museum and the royal palace. Then, departure by the road to the village of Behenjy, first producer of liver in the sixties. Continuation to Antsirabe also called « the town of water ». Lunch on « the livers tables with differents flavour » at Behenjy. Diner and night on site.
In the morning, guided tour in the town of Antsirabe and then visit to a traditional confectionery making malagasy sweets. Continuation to Fianarantsoa, a wine region in full revival. Free lunch, diner and night on site.
In the morning, visit of the old town of Fianarantsoa, « where we learn good » and the Maromby’s monastery created in 1958 and reputed for « its wines and shorts » where the trappist monks of the abaye themselves harvest the grapes followed by a tasting . Continuation to Sahambavy , the field of Malagasy woman for a 20 Kilometers earthen trail. Arrival at Sahambavy for a night there. The following day, visit of the plantation and the tea manufacturing factory highly sought after recherched for its strong taste and unique followed by a testing of the differents teas which green tea is known by its beneficial qualities for health. In the afternoon, on the road to Ambalavao ,small town famous for its « zebu market ». Arrival at Ambalavao, free lunch and diner. Night on site.
Free morning at your own pace at Ambalavao where you can visit the Antemoro paper manufacturing workshop and wild silk weaving workshop. Lunch “on the tables of Le Bougainvilliers” specialized for typical malagasy menus including the famous « Varanga » made from thinly sliced , a succulent dish for the Malagasy showing their wealth. Continuation to Ranohira where you will cross a beautiful desert landscape with its large centuries old canyons typical of the great south. Arrival at Ranohira , dinner and night on site.
Departure by the road to Tulear where you can discover the town according to the flight schedule. Then transfer at the airport of Tulear for your return flight to the capital and your destination country.
